We are usually starting our application process this year october for the season 2024! We still have open positions for Language Assistants for our Easter and Summercamps. (Scroll down to the bottom of the page for Language Assistants)

Do you have experience working with schoolgroups and a background in outdoor education? Do you want to combine your skills in outdoor education and language teaching? Our residential camps take place in the German and Austrian Alps, in truly stunning areas. Activities are Rock Climbing, High Ropes Course, Guided hikes, team challenges and English language Games. Our Camps are Overnight camps, based in really nice youth hostels.

Our 2023 Dates:

The last week in April, all weeks in May, the first two weeks in July, the first two weeks in August and two weeks in October starting on the 10th  *subject to change*

-Positions ranging up to 10 weeks available

*UK Passport holders will be employed as seasonal staff on the payroll due to Brexit

*also please look into your travel logistics to make sure your journey is realistic. 

 

Outdoor Instructors

We are looking for inspirational and creative outdoor instructors to join our team for the season 2023.

We are a Language school and outdoor education company based in Bavaria.

We are a family run company organizing high quality outdoor education camps in the Kleinwalsertal valley in Austria, and our aim is to teach English to kids (ages 12-14) in a fun way while being outdoors and running various outdoor activities. 

Our focus is on speaking as much English as possible during camp. You will have a lot of freedom to design your day to day (following some guidelines), but you will be asked to debrief your group after activities to get them to answer and ask questions in English, and come up with creative ways to incorporate English games.

 

What we are looking for:

  • your English is close to Native Speaker level
  • qualifications: ML or hillwalking qualification, RCI or equivalent, Outdoor Education Training
  • Experience working with school groups and overnight camps.
  • you are open to new ideas and different ways of teaching English in an outdoor setting. Some teaching experience is of advantage.

What we offer:

  • experience in a unique setting – this camp is really special.We give you some training on our methods of outdoor education and language aquisition.
  • you get to design your own outdoor days and are quite free in what you want to run with your group – within your schedule of the other activities that are set i.e. Climbing.
  • There will be an onboarding day for you  with your language games and show you the area.

FAQs

Why can I not work as a freelancer?

If you have a UK passport we can only employ you as seasonal staff, even if you work as a freelancer in UK.

How does the Visa work?

This is a complicated process, but we will do the work for you – you just need to fill in a bit of paperwork. Visa Fees will be covered. This applies to UK visas only.

 

 

Language Assistants 

You should
…be a native speaker of English or have an Native speaker level of English

…have experience working with kids and teens

…enjoy the outdoors

 

What we are looking for:

  • your English is close to Native Speaker level
  • you like working with kids
  • you are outgoing and full of energy to manage a day at camp
  • you enjoy working in a team and you are confident to run small groups of kids (with the support and help or our qualified instructors)
  • you are open to new ideas and different ways of teaching English in an outdoor setting

What we offer:

  • experience in a unique setting – this camp is really special. We work with small groups and you get the opportunity to learn about our special methods of outdoor education and language aquisition.
  • You never run activities by yourself but you get to work alongside our experienced instructors.
  • You get to run some sessions on something that you enjoy (theatre, musical, poetry, rugby) with support of our instructors.
  • Food and Accommodation during camp is free, please enquire about our payment schemes.

Location – How to get here:

The camps are in close proximity to Memmingen airport and Munich airport (Ryan Air via London Stansted). From the airport to the camp it is another 3 hour train ride. If you arrive at around 6pm you might be struggling to get here on the same day. The closest train station to camp is Oberstdorf station.
